Kai Land in Ireland
May 2nd, 2012
As many of you know, I just went to Ireland for the start of my “Welcome To…Kai Land” tour of all the lands..tour.
It was heaven. I should’ve known when I arrived what kind of trip it’d be, because I was greeted with a beautiful rainbow…
Cork
I have so many photos I don’t know if I should post them every other line! Needles to say, if I have to pick my favorite 2 things about ireland, the first would be the sheep and the second would be the strawberries. The sheep?! You say?! Yes. They are like little stumpy clouds with faces. As we drove by I was desperate to get a nice photo unfortunately I couldn’t. I just wanted to be one with the sheep. Take a nap on a rainbowy afternoon amongst my heard of sheep. Perhaps I was a shepherd in another life. Alas, not in this life. I also found myself in a strawberry frenzie. Having tasted one I realized many things. For one, strawberries are not meant to be sour. Or hard. Or manky tasting in general. Not all the things I grew up thinking that they were. Strawberries are sweet, irresisstably sweet, with a jelly like substance that just melt in your mouth with no bitter after taste. So the sheep, the strawberries and listening to Indie Rock Icons record on my drive to Dublin, is perhaps my fondest memory of not only Ireland, but in my life.
Dublin
Dublin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a city. The first venue I performed at was The Grand Social.

One of the coolest venues I’ve ever played in. Unfortunately right before I went on to perform I got a little sick in the bathroom, to make it worse, I got locked in. I guess you could say these were “poor conditions” to start off a killer show. Nonetheless I kicked the door free and I was ready to play. To my delight, not only was the venue really cool but the crowd was as well. During my song “sparkly minerals” fog started to come out on stage. The lights, the fog, the spirited crowd really felt like home.
The next venue I performed at was “The….
I did have a little time in between the sets to grab a bite to eat. And what better than a little Chinese food in Ireland? As I was enjoying my dish, I realized it was getting dangerously close the the show and I had to change out of my Kiss t-shirt into my cool Michael Jackson-esque jacket. Wouldn’t be right to do show without it. I hurry to the venue (right next door) and to my dismay the sound system was all a fray. They kept me offstage for an hour, however their delay was to my advantage because the later I played the more packed the room became. I go on to sing a killer show, really brought down the house, I delievered the most exciting trip to Kai Land to date!
Maybe it was all the castles….
the tour continues in New York next week. See you there!
